The National Archive of the Republic of Moldova owns a great number, over a million, of units: manuscripts, images, maps, printed books, personal archives – covering the history of Moldova from the Middle Ages till today. A certain part of these units are Jewish-related, as Moldova has a long and rich Jewish history. The Archive catalogues are rather well organized; at the same time, in many years of experience we discovered what a challenging task it is to define the Jewish content in the catalogues: be thematical or chronological. Thus, the project is supposed to cover this gap and create, step by step, a thematical guidebook of the Jewish related files. The thematical guidebook will assist researchers all over the world by making process of discovering primary sources way easier.
